What A Puppy Needs
Thank you for reserving a puppy with Apricot Lane! Below we have listed a few items that will help you prepare for your puppies arrival.
Congratulations on bringing home a new Cavapoochon puppy!!
Your puppy will come with the following items when you pick them up or have them delivered.
**Favorite Blanket
**Favorite Toy
**Harness and Leash
**Start of PawTree Food
**One tube of Frontline (Flea preventative)
**Sample of NuVet Vitamins
**Health Certificate
**Health records (vaccinations and worming.) When scheduling the first vet appointment, many vets will ask what vaccinations they have had prior to adoption. They will have two boosters and Bordatella.
**Snuggle Pet (has a heartbeat to help the puppy sleep well in their new crate)
PLEASE MAKE A VET APPOINTMENT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE IS NOT VALID IF THE PUPPY DOES NOT SEE A VET WITHIN THE FIRST 72 HOURS AFTER ADOPTION.
List of things you may need:
Collar/ Harness (small) and Leash (I recommend having two on hand...I will send one with your puppy)
Food and water bowl ( I recommend a small) Metal or hard plastic is best
Crate (not too big)
We recommend one that is big enough for them to turn around in but not big enough for them to go to the bathroom in a corner. Puppies do not like to go potty where they need to sleep. We also recommend a wire crate so that the dog can see out of it as well.
A good size is 30x19x21 or something similar.
Baby Blankets
Chew Toys
Vitamins: These are optional but we recommend Nuvet….our breeder number is 93900 (I prefer the
powder, but the tablets are fine too)
Dog Food -PawTree -Real Chicken & Sweet Potato..... Arriving at their new home is going to be a big change for your dog. So one of the kindest things you can do is to give them a bowl of the same food that they’re accustomed to. It’ll make your puppy feel welcome and secure. You can click on the picture below and it will take you directly to the website. Please be sure to follow the feeding guidelines. It is so full of nutrients and not fillers your dog will not need as much food as many other dog food brands.
We do not recommend switching food for at least the first year. After that, you can decide what food you’d like to give them. By mixing the new food in with the old, little by little over a week or so, you can switch your dog’s diet to whatever you decide is best. Also switching food too quickly can cause diarrhea, just be very careful with their little bellies.
Grooming Tools (small nail clippers and a brush)
